DAY 2 - POTTY TRAINING (SUCESS!)

DAY 2
SUCCESS!

Daddy: "Grayson, do you have to go potty?

Grayson: "YEAH!"

Daddy: "Ok lets sit on the potty"

Grayson: "Uh oh"

Daddy: "No no Grayson, that's not an uh oh that's a good job! Your going potty like a big boy! YAY!!"

Daddy: "MOMMY GET A PRIZE GET A PRIZE!"

Grayson: "Pee Pee?

Daddy: "Yes Grayson you pee peed in the potty!  What a big boy you are! Would you like a cookie?"

Grayson: "YEAH YEAH YEAH!"

Mommy: (jumping around screaming like a wild women)

Grayson then proceeds to tell the pee pee bye bye!

Who would have ever thought that this day would come that Eric and I would be jumping around like wild people in excitement over a little pee pee in the potty! I am sure that not everyone wants to hear about our potty training or what Grayson is doing in the potty but we are just so proud and excited for him.  Now, don't get me wrong, we know that we still have a long long LONG road ahead of us, but hey, it's a start!

I'm not sure what Grayson was more excited about, going potty or having a whole cookie (fudge round) to himself and not having to share with his mommy!

What will DAY 3 bring?

DAY 1 - POTTY TRAINING

So the day has come where our sweet little boy is going from diapers to undies (kind of).  We decided last week (with the help of Grayson's wonderful teacher at daycare) that Monday would be the day we started potty training.  I was so nervous/anxious/worried because I didn't want to do anything that would discourage him from the whole process.  We started probably when he was 1 - 1 1/2 sitting on the potty before bedtime and he loves it! He knows exactly what you are supposed to do (and will tell you) but he just hasn't actually mastered it yet.

So how did his 1st day go?  Take a look at t his video I think is pretty much sums it up!

Poor little guy! It was clearly mommy's fault b/c she thought it would be a good idea to let Grayson run around in his undies on Day 1. I made sure not to freak out thought because I didn't want to scare him! But hello, where was my brain! He sure did look cute in his motorcycle undies though.

Here is another video of him before the "accident" jumping around on his bed acting like a goofball!

Day 2 is going to be his day I just know it!

It's Monday (after a long weekend!)

We started off our LONG weekend by making our rounds at Mimi Janet's work and Auntie Lindsay's work.  It was a gloomy rainy day so it gave us something to do besides sit in the house.

Both my mom and sister in law Lindsay work in Greensboro (30 min away) so we grabbed lunch while we were out too!

Here is Grayson helping Mimi with some last minuet work before lunchtime
I don't know what it is but Grayson now has this obsession with water fountains and I just hate it. I mean think about all the people that use them and all the germs. YUCK, but he looks so cute drinking from them!
Here he is working at Auntie Lindsay's work.  I hope he didn't think he was going there just to visit!
 Look at him typing away!
Saturday evening we went over to Eric's moms house to color Easter egss and grill out steaks.  Typically Grayson goes to bed pretty early because he is one grouchy kid when he is tired but he stayed up until 9:30 or so (which is late to him).  When we started coloring egg around his bed time he started to have a little fit because he wanted to drink the water from the measuring cup?!

Strange, yes! But, we let him do it.

He was pretty happy after we let him.  You would think we never give him anything to drink.

This is Eric's mom and Grayson coloring their plastic Easter egg.  Grayson kept spilling the real egg coloring so we gave him clear water to color his plastic eggs in. HA! I don't think is cared too much!

HAPPY EASTER!

I looked at this picture and his basket looks so pitiful compared to last year.  I promise he got more in his basket then what this picture shows. The easter bunny also left bunny cookies for breakfast!

Sunday we went to my moms for the Easter dinner. It was so yummy I think I could have sat their and ate for hours! After we ate we went outside because it was a beautiful day!

Isn't he just the cutest thing!

He went for a ride on his gator and chased all the birds out of the yard!

Overall we had a great LONG weekend and as always it wasn't LONG enough!

I thought I would post one more picture to tie up the weekend....
I just love this little guy to pieces!! It's a rare occassion when I get a "good" picture with this little man becuase typically I am the one with the camera but this time Daddy snapped one of Grayson and I!

Safaris, Bugs, and Growing Babies!

This past weekend we traveled to Ohio to celebrate my youngest nephews 1st birthday!

How was our eight and a half hour road trip?  Well we decided to leave Thursday night after I got off work about 5:00 and drive through the night and Grayson's bedtime!  Let me start off by saying whoever invented DVD players for the car was simply brilliant!!  Grayson was up for the first 4 hours of the trip snacking and watching movies with me and then about 9:00 p.m. we put on some comfy clothes, drank some milk, and he we both went to bed and slept the next 4 hours!!  My intentions were to stop at least one more time to change him and stretch our legs but I fell asleep with him and never woke up until we were about 20 minuets from my dads house! HA!  He woke up while we were unpacking the car for about 1-2 hours but then went back to bed and slept until 8:30!!  I shouldn't brag too much because normally when we go on vacation he does not sleep good!!  I don't have any pictures of us while we were in the car and honestly I don't even know if you would be able to see us in the pictures our car was packed full!!

Friday, while Eric and Grayson spent the day with Papa Rick, I ran party errands with my sister and I must  say we had a pretty good time even though she was stressed about getting everything done.  She actually took a break from party mode and ate dinner.  I took her to Moe's for the first time! I was shocked she had never been there!!

Saturday I got to babysit this sweet boy while everyone decorated for his birthday safari
I just loved babysitting him! I don't get to see him very often so I volunteered myself to keep him the morning of the party months ago!

I am not going to share too many details about the party until my sister shares her pictures with her family and friends but I will give you a couple sneak peeks because the party was absolutely amazing!

The cake was so cute!

This is my mom (Mimi) and my older middle sister Chrissy

My dad (Papa Rick) was showing Grayson how to use his binoculars and it was the cutest thing!

Grayson is ready for his Safari!

I can't wait to watch them grow up together!
If if they never have siblings one day, they will ALWAYS have each other and can always relate to each other because they are so close in age! I just love that!

They sure do grow up quick!
(They don't even look like the same babies!)

So we've covered the Safari part, and the Growing Babies part, now onto the bug part! Not only was Quinten in the hospital a week before his big birthday party (No worries, all is well now!! He had some breathing problems and was diagnosed with a form of bronchitis and is doing much better!!) but he must have also came down with this terrible stomach bug!!  It started on Sunday, not going into too much detail but, Quinn tossed his cookies and then 10 min later Grayson did!  You could tell Quinn didn't feel good but Grayson acted fine after it happened, no fever, no nothing.  Monday morning we woke up and finished packing things up and Deanna (my sister) started getting sick!! Chris (my brother-in-law) was feeding Quinn breakfast and then he started getting sick! Eric and I looked at each other and said,
"GRAB YOUR BAGS AND GET OUT OF HERE!"
We made it all the way home and we all felt fine (except for this nasty cold I have had).  That was until Monday night after getting the car unpacked and Grayson into bed, then he started getting sick!!  We were up all night and he has had this terrible bug all week.  I think he is finally on the mend and getting over it but I couldn't believe how quickly it was spreading!!

I hope no one else gets this nasty bug going around because it is terrible!

Overall we had a wonderful trip and I can't wait to see everyone again, after all the sickness has left!!!

Boo! Boo!

I picked Grayson up from school yesterday and we were just talking all the way home. I love that he can say different things now, or at least try to, so I decided to do a quick video.

Yes, that is his massive boo boo on the side of his face! It gets worse and worse each day and it makes me feel terrible! I think he brags about it at school to his friends though! HA!

Mini Mountain Getaway!

Eric and I celebrated our 2nd wedding anniversary (March 14th) by taking a little mini getaway this weekend to Gaitlinburg, Tennessee.  I had never been there before and it has always been on my list of places I wanted to visit (within driving distance).  It made it even more fun because there are not many places Eric hasn't been and this was one of them!

The weather was supposed to be absolutely beautiful this weekend so I was so excited to just get out and get some fresh air and take in the sites.  Well, we woke up to a cloudy, gloomy Sunday so we decided to to take in some indoor sites and started at the Ripley's Aquarium.

I just thought this was the coolest looking thing.  It is a Sea Dragon!
These fine looking fish were swimming right about our head! SCARY!
This cute little thing was waddling all around.  If you made reservation in advance you could actually go in a room and play with the penguins.  How cool would that be?!

We also took in a little 3D adventure!

What would Gatlinburg be like without the traditional Sky Lift Ride?  Everyone I talk to that has been to Gatlinburg had their picture taken

I'm not going to lie I was a little scared at first...can you tell I was hanging on for dear life!

What a BEAUTIFUL view!
On our way out on Sunday we decided to take a little drive through the Mountains and we found this little village of house that were built a long time ago.  I had to take a picture because there was this cute little family having a picnic out there.  I wish we would have thought of that!
We saw some of the coolest waterfalls!
Eric just being Eric.....

Where's Eric?

Overall, it was a great mini getaway we both really needed it!  We sure did miss our little guy though! I know we just drove Eric's mom crazy calling every other hour!  We knew he was having a great mini vacation with Granny too! I think he grew 10 inches while we were gone and learned a hundred new words.

We were so excited to see the little guy when we got home and it made it even more special that he was squeeling and yelling our names with excitment when he saw us.  Eric and I just couldn't wait to get our hands on him!

I think we were home for about an hour and then this happened...
The pictures don't look as bad as what it does in person!

(Please excuse the mouth full of bananas, he was having his bedtime snack)
I think he might have a nice little black eye this morning too!

I wont go into a ton of details or point any fingers (daddy, daddy, daddy) but Eric and I were sitting on the floor playing with him before bathtime.  I was playing with a balloon with him and when he would go to grab it I would snatch it up before he could get.  He was laughing so hard I thought he wouldn't be able to catch his breath.  Not pointing fingers or anything but....Eric thought he would pull one over on both Grayson and I and snatch it from me and him.  When TWO hands are going towards ONE balloon towards ONE little boys face this is what happens!  Eric's hand struck my hand instead of the balloon and my thumb nail went right into his face! AHH! Can you see how close it was to his eye!! I think Eric and I could have both sat there and cried! We felt terrible!! Of course, as the mom in me, say good thing picture day was last week!

Eric keeps telling me to get use to stuff like this since he is a boy but it's going to take me a while!

Happy 1st Birthday Quinten Thomas Wall

I have three of the cutest nephews but one happens to be having their FIRST birthday today!

This is an extra special day because my sister and brother-in-law hoped and prayed for years and years to have their own bundle of joy.  After many years of hard times, they were finally blessed with this handsome little man!

QUINTEN THOMAS WALL

I remember the day we found out my sister was pregnant! Her and I have always shared our clothes and once I got pregnant I boxed up all my cute things and shipped them to her because I knew I would never be able to wear them again.  Good by Forever 21, Hello Motherhood Maternity!  The next day after we brought Grayson home from the hospital the whole entire family was gathered around in the living room and my sister comes walking in with one of my maternity shirts on (I must add it was a very unflattering maternity shirt and every time I wore it she always made fun of me in it! I have to admit, it was pretty ugly!)  She asked me if she could barrow it.  Like the emotional, tired, new mom I was I looked at her and said shut up and go put the shirt back....tears just started coming down her face and everyone just started screaming and hugging and crying! Yup, it was finally her time!!  SHE WAS PREGNANT, 7 weeks to be exact and they had just heard the heartbeat the day I was in labor with Grayson!

If anyone deserved this more then anything it was them!!

I must add that they did not find out if they were having a boy or a girl so we had to wait 9 LONG months to find out! I was so excited when I got the call and my sister was yelling....

IT'S A BOY!
(don't you just want to cuddle with him!)

These two guys are going to be BEST BUDS and I cannot wait to watch them grow up together!
His shirt says it all!

HAPPY 1ST BIRTHDAY QUINTEN!!
WE LOVE YOU!!
