Boo! Boo!

I picked Grayson up from school yesterday and we were just talking all the way home. I love that he can say different things now, or at least try to, so I decided to do a quick video.

Yes, that is his massive boo boo on the side of his face! It gets worse and worse each day and it makes me feel terrible! I think he brags about it at school to his friends though! HA!

Mini Mountain Getaway!

Eric and I celebrated our 2nd wedding anniversary (March 14th) by taking a little mini getaway this weekend to Gaitlinburg, Tennessee.  I had never been there before and it has always been on my list of places I wanted to visit (within driving distance).  It made it even more fun because there are not many places Eric hasn't been and this was one of them!

The weather was supposed to be absolutely beautiful this weekend so I was so excited to just get out and get some fresh air and take in the sites.  Well, we woke up to a cloudy, gloomy Sunday so we decided to to take in some indoor sites and started at the Ripley's Aquarium.

I just thought this was the coolest looking thing.  It is a Sea Dragon!
These fine looking fish were swimming right about our head! SCARY!
This cute little thing was waddling all around.  If you made reservation in advance you could actually go in a room and play with the penguins.  How cool would that be?!

We also took in a little 3D adventure!

What would Gatlinburg be like without the traditional Sky Lift Ride?  Everyone I talk to that has been to Gatlinburg had their picture taken

I'm not going to lie I was a little scared at first...can you tell I was hanging on for dear life!

What a BEAUTIFUL view!
On our way out on Sunday we decided to take a little drive through the Mountains and we found this little village of house that were built a long time ago.  I had to take a picture because there was this cute little family having a picnic out there.  I wish we would have thought of that!
We saw some of the coolest waterfalls!
Eric just being Eric.....

Where's Eric?

Overall, it was a great mini getaway we both really needed it!  We sure did miss our little guy though! I know we just drove Eric's mom crazy calling every other hour!  We knew he was having a great mini vacation with Granny too! I think he grew 10 inches while we were gone and learned a hundred new words.

We were so excited to see the little guy when we got home and it made it even more special that he was squeeling and yelling our names with excitment when he saw us.  Eric and I just couldn't wait to get our hands on him!

I think we were home for about an hour and then this happened...
The pictures don't look as bad as what it does in person!

(Please excuse the mouth full of bananas, he was having his bedtime snack)
I think he might have a nice little black eye this morning too!

I wont go into a ton of details or point any fingers (daddy, daddy, daddy) but Eric and I were sitting on the floor playing with him before bathtime.  I was playing with a balloon with him and when he would go to grab it I would snatch it up before he could get.  He was laughing so hard I thought he wouldn't be able to catch his breath.  Not pointing fingers or anything but....Eric thought he would pull one over on both Grayson and I and snatch it from me and him.  When TWO hands are going towards ONE balloon towards ONE little boys face this is what happens!  Eric's hand struck my hand instead of the balloon and my thumb nail went right into his face! AHH! Can you see how close it was to his eye!! I think Eric and I could have both sat there and cried! We felt terrible!! Of course, as the mom in me, say good thing picture day was last week!

Eric keeps telling me to get use to stuff like this since he is a boy but it's going to take me a while!

Happy 1st Birthday Quinten Thomas Wall

I have three of the cutest nephews but one happens to be having their FIRST birthday today!

This is an extra special day because my sister and brother-in-law hoped and prayed for years and years to have their own bundle of joy.  After many years of hard times, they were finally blessed with this handsome little man!

QUINTEN THOMAS WALL

I remember the day we found out my sister was pregnant! Her and I have always shared our clothes and once I got pregnant I boxed up all my cute things and shipped them to her because I knew I would never be able to wear them again.  Good by Forever 21, Hello Motherhood Maternity!  The next day after we brought Grayson home from the hospital the whole entire family was gathered around in the living room and my sister comes walking in with one of my maternity shirts on (I must add it was a very unflattering maternity shirt and every time I wore it she always made fun of me in it! I have to admit, it was pretty ugly!)  She asked me if she could barrow it.  Like the emotional, tired, new mom I was I looked at her and said shut up and go put the shirt back....tears just started coming down her face and everyone just started screaming and hugging and crying! Yup, it was finally her time!!  SHE WAS PREGNANT, 7 weeks to be exact and they had just heard the heartbeat the day I was in labor with Grayson!

If anyone deserved this more then anything it was them!!

I must add that they did not find out if they were having a boy or a girl so we had to wait 9 LONG months to find out! I was so excited when I got the call and my sister was yelling....

IT'S A BOY!
(don't you just want to cuddle with him!)

These two guys are going to be BEST BUDS and I cannot wait to watch them grow up together!
His shirt says it all!

HAPPY 1ST BIRTHDAY QUINTEN!!
WE LOVE YOU!!

Happy 2 Year Wedding Anniversary

Two years ago today Eric and I tied the knot!!  I can't believe it has already been two years!!
Bless his heart for sticking with me and all my crazy ways this long!

From the left: Lindsay (Eric's sister), Chrissy (middle sister), Deanna (older sister), Me, Eric,
Stephen (Eric's best bud), Travis (my step brother), and Brandon (Eric's best bud)
Bottom: Stephanie and Alisha (Stephen's ADORABLE younger sisters)

I don't have any "good" wedding pictures on my computer, I know terrible, but I thought I would at least share one I had.

Last year for out Anniversary Eric surprised me with a trip to the mountains.  We had the best time and it even started snowing!

He even surprised me with our wedding cake (a fresh, smaller version of course).
It was pound cake with fresh strawberries with buttercream frosting. YUMMY!
We laughed all night because he remembered the forks but not a knife to cut the cake with.
We just dug right in and this is what was left...

This year we are going to Gatlinburg, TN.  I have never been there so I am pretty excited and the weather is supposed to be in the 70's and wonderful!
I'm pretty sure Grayson is just as excited for us to go on a mini vacation because he is staying with Granny (Eric's mom).

I will post pictures of our mini getaway when we get back.

HAPPY 2 YEAR WEDDING ANNIVERSARY ERIC!

Show Us Your Life - Kids Birthday Parties

Every Friday at Kelly's Korner she does a post called Show Us You Life with different topics.  This week the topic is kids birthday parties so I just love reading her blog and I thought I would participate this week!

For Grayson's first birthday we did a "fishing/goldfish" themed party.  For those of you who already know us, know that Eric a big time fisherman who hopes that one day Grayson will follow in his foots steps like he did with his father.

I had so much fun planning (with a ton of help from friends and family) Grayson's 1st Birthday.  We had a close friend, who is also a photographer, take pictures at his party and we have a ton so I will try to cut it down to a few (but that is going to be hard).

Grayson's 1st Birthday is almost here
He's really excited to show you his fishing gear.
We hope you get this invitation and take the bait
Don't forget to mark it on your calendar and save the date!

If you can't make it catch my mom at (and your number).

For favors, I decided to give the kids real gold fish (like at the fair). Your welcome mommy and daddy's HA!
I attached a little baggie of fish food with a little note that said "catch of the day".  They were so cute!
Poor little fish!

This is on our deck looking over the tables
All the tables has fish place mats along with little bowls of cheese gold fish.
For centerpieces I did a gold fish bowl with live goldfish and cute little gerber daisies on top
Gummy worms (for fish bait), sweetish fish, smores goldfish crackers, and pretzel goldfish crackers
(who knew there were SO MANY goldfish flavors!!)
My mom and her good friend's son Corbin worked really hard on this watermelon.  We saw a picture online and thought this would be so cool.  Easier said then done!!  It turned out really cute though!

CAKE TIME!
I'm not a crafty person but I made these cute cupcake picks for the cupcakes.
One of my friends from High School recently took an interest in making/decorating cakes and I saw some of her work on Facebook and asked her if she would be interested in making a smash cake for Grayson.  She gladly accepted and it turned out so cute!
This was my biggest fear! I was so scared he would "melt down" when it was time for his cake and he did!!
PLAN B:
We decided to give him a cupcake and as you can see it was a big hit!

We decorated his new playhouse my dad built for Grayson and put a big red bow on it since it was his gift from my dad (papa).
I just thought these pictures were so cute of Grayson looking out the window at all his decorations outside!

PRESENTS!
Words cannot even explain how many presents his got! We are so thankful for each and every one of the gifts and now Eric's office is not only a work space but a play room!
It was miserably hot that day in July and I felt so bad for the guest because so many people were going in and out of the house that not even the inside of the house was cool.
This little guy got so hot he decided to take off his clothes and hang out in his diaper.
(Sweet baby Quinn)

These are just a FEW of the pictures from his 1st birthday and I have a ton more! I just loved it. Yes, I wish the weather was cooler, yes I wish I would have taken a second to actually step back and look at all the kids playing and having fun, but in the end it was all worth it and I have all these wonderful pictures to look at.

I can't believe that in 4 short months we will be having his 2nd birthday!
